An old Star Wars cartoon, now in technicolor

Here’s a little exercise in restoration, partly because I am a Star Wars nerd, and partly because I always wanted to redo this cartoon in colour…

Awesome! I remember the old one but wanted to compare it side by side. I had to search. I will spare the search to future readers.

I always liked the wobbly lines. They were your unsigned signature. The new version looks good too. :)

Love the colors, but I actually found wobbly lines really cute.

I do agree, I think there were just a couple that were a tad TOO wobbly, where I really over exaggerated it. And admittedly, redrawing things in Illustrator as I did with this one does tend to remove the ‘personality’ that the older version had. But I’m a fussy bugger, and it just looks so neat and tidy!

PS – plus, I haven’t done any new ones for a while so just wanted to get something up :)

I have to agree with most people, the wobbly lines have a special character and spontaneity to them that I really like. Don’t polish them too much.

Hehe, you’re right with “neat and tidy” – Steve Jobs would have approved that cartoon :D

Looks like you have an admirer. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kevinpoulton/5073179946/ They clearly lack your drawing skills, so they went the picture route.

Goldenfalcon, the best bit is that he’s also selling the image on cards, prints and posters, and his site features this message:

PLEASE NOTE: The copyright for all my images belongs solely to me.
My images may not be copied, downloaded, or used in any way without my explicit written permission unless purchased via this site.

    That’s a bit of a stretch, don’t you think?

Asking questions are genuinely good thing if you are
not understanding anything entirely, however this article gives nice understanding
    even.
